THE JESUS PRAYER AND TRINITY MANTRA CHANTS "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner" A simple yet powerful prayer of the publican (Lk18:9-14). This prayer has been used all through the centuries and is still used extensively by the Christians of the Eastern Rite. Early Christians found the Jesus Prayer an ideal method of staying in continued union with God and winning from Him a constant flow of graces and blessings. This first half of the prayer is the basis of the Christian Faith while the second part sums up and presents to God every need of our life by the one petition for God's mercy. "Abba, Jesu, Spiritu Sanctae, Amen" Giving glory to the Trinity in a chant brings us to a heightened awareness of God's presence in our lives.
